sevilla, spain distillery trip

Today, my husband Matt and I say goodbye to Seville, Spain after a week long Young Living Retreat. Beyond the tangible gifts we take home, we also bring some amazing knowledge to share with you.

One of the most wonderful experiences was visiting our Vida de Seville Distillery. Gary and Mary Young first discovered and visited this distillery in 1996. The Vida de Seville Distillery is located in Almaden de la Plata in Seville, Spain. The distillery sits on the stunning edge of the Sierra Norte Nature Park, where the vicinity’s well-preserved nature offers pure, raw plant materials.

The distillery crafts Cistus, Frankincense, Neroli and Myrrh essential oils. The distillery uses a reprocessing system that incorporates filtering, drying, and recycling distillation biomass. The local workers also go above and beyond to use sustainable methods as they HANDPICK wildcrafted Cistus in the Sierra Norte Nature Park. They even give the “scraps” of Cistus after its been distilled, to a local company that then uses it to turn it in to electricity! The land has never been touched by man and goes ABOVE + BEYOND organic standards and aligns with our Seed to Seal quality.

Young Living wholeheartedly believes in preserving nature and giving back to the community. The Vida de Seville Distillery promotes hiring local personnel living in Almaden de la Plata and uses practices to sustain the quality of the land. Young Living provides thousands of workers in communities around the world who relying on us to provide meaningful work through farming.

Below are pictures from our experience at the farm.

We helped with the distillation of Cistus + Frankincense. We even worked in the fields on a beautiful hillside helping to harvest Cistus in the natural forest near the distillery. The plants leaves are extremely sticky and we wore shin guards and gloves, as we macheted the branches off. We we’re even even given the opportunity to pour Frankincense resin and cistus branches into the cookers.

I wish for you all the opportunity to visit one of our farms + distilleries throughout the world. This was one of the selling points for me about Young Living, is that we're the only company that owns our farms, and YOU can actually visit them. This is my 4th farm experience; Mona, Utah, St. Maries, Idaho, Guayaquil, Ecuador + Seville, Spain.

Once you see the Seed to Seal process for yourself, there's no question that we produce the most therapeutic grade oils in the world, as we're the only company apart of the production of our oils from SEED TO SEAL.

I'm forever grateful for Young Living and this opportunity --- caring about these oils and the people who use them so much, that they make E V E R Y step of the process transparent. They encourage you to peek in green houses, touch every plant, go barefoot in the grass, speak to the farmers, and get your hands muddy in the soil. No other essential oil company can claim that, and no other company actually allows you to see what their doing with your oils. There is a difference in oil companies and many members of Pure Culture have been able to see it first hand.
